FAQ's

  • Can I have a system in place which notifies me of pump failure/ system high level when I am not in the property?

We have a Telemetry Unit that email notifies up to 6 contacts, with alerts of pump station failure. We issue 1 year free monitoring within the cost of the unit. There is a charge per annum, after the first year of which we can advise on purchase.

  • If my alarm is going off, what does it mean?

Most alarms/panels have a feature which notifies you when your system is due for a service is due or if a high level has been/is being experienced within the chamber. If you are unsure on what alert you are receiving, please feel free to call us and we can distinguish this for you.

  • How often should a commercial pump station need maintaining/ servicing?

Due to the lack of ability to monitor and manage the contents going into these pump stations, a bespoke maintenance package can be designed based on the purpose of the building as well as the demand and usage of the equipment. Maintenance visits can range from quarterly visits to biannual visits, inclusive of a tanker empty/clean of the station.

  • How often should my domestic pump station need maintaining/ servicing?

We highly recommend every 6 months, but at the very least your pump station requires an annual service. After an initial visit from one of our service engineers, we can establish an appropriated regime. We would recommend taking a look at our service agreements, which cover a range of elements/visits.

  • I am getting smells from my pump station, what could this be?

If installed correctly, pump stations should not release odours. On occasions, smells can be transferred; this could suggest failure of pump station however, more often it suggests the pump station could do with a clean or that gases are excepting from cable ducts or manhole covers. We can determine the cause of this on a visit and quote accordingly if required.
